The main responsibilities of the S&D bureau are to define the political agenda of the S&D group and to consider the financial aspects of its activities. It consists in one president, eight vice-presidents and one treasurer. Whilst S&D President Martin Schulz is the general representative of the S&D ideals in the European Parliament, - trying to reach consensus in the group and participating, through the conference of presidents, to the organisation Parliament's legislative planning, deciding the responsibilities and membership of committees and delegations and defining relations with other EU institutions, the national parliaments and non-EU countries -, each one of the eight vice-presidents is dedicated to one particular aspect of the EU policy, defining what are the priorities and guidelines of the Group when it comes to those issues. Finally, the treasurer of the Group is responsible for the financial aspects of S&D activities.
